5 TRICKS FOR KNOWING YOUR WEDDING GARB FITS PERFECTLY

Sometimes tricks are about getting in to your clothes. Herewith some easy tricks for making sure the clothes you pick for your wedding are a perfect fit.

THE SHOULDER TO WALL TRICK:

Try on the suit jacket (or blazer or sports coat). With the outside of your shoulder facing a wall, lean into it. If the shoulder pad strikes the wall first, then scrunches up before your shoulder touches the wall, the jacket is too big. You want a jacket in which your shoulder and the pad touch the wall at virtually the same time.

THE CUPPING TRICK:

Try on the suit jacket or sports coat. Hold your arms straight along your body and fold your fingers under the lower edge of the jacket. Pretend you are cupping your fingers around the handle of a suitcase. The edge of the should just barely your folded fingers. If it bunches in your hand, it is too long. If you can't touch the fabric between your fingers and your palm, it is too short.

THE HANDSHAKE TRICK:

Put on your jacket and stand in front of the mirror. Now raise your arm and hand as though you were about to shake someone's hand. If you notice the jacket bunching up around the shoulder, the arm hole is too big. Look for a jacket that has a smaller arm opening and thus likely to be better fitting.

THE HUG TRICK:

Try on the shirts, suit and/or jacket, and pretend like you are going to hug your husband. If it feels like you are going to go all Incredible Hulk, you need to size up or try a different brand.

THE FINGER TRICK:

Put on your shirt and button it all the way up. Now stick a finger in between the collar and neck. The collar should easily fit one finger. If it is too lose or even if you can fit two fingers in, this collar is too big.
