WINTER WEDDING PLANNING TIPS

A wedding is hard to plan. Period, the end. And, no matter the season, each one presents its particular challenges.

When it comes to planning your winter wedding, we want to share the following planning tips.

TRAVEL TIME:
Getting to the church on time couldn't be more challenged in wintertime. Make sure you allow the most time to get from Point A to Point B both for you and your guests. Don't be afraid to stipulate an arrival time and pad it by 30 minutes. A good warm drink will keep your guests distracted as they wait.

STICK TO ONE VENUE
Building on the point above, keep your wedding and reception venues tight and stick to one. You don't want to have people moving from venue-to-venue risking getting lost, stuck or snowed out!

COAT CHECK:
This is a seemingly obvious one, but make sure your venue has the space and the staff to handle everyone's winter outerwear. Double down on the number of coat checkers at the start of the event when there is more likely a bottleneck.

CHECK THE DECOR
Winter weddings are often around holiday time and venues might not be shy with their Christmas and Hanukkah decor. Make sure you are clear with the venue as to what decorations will be up and which can come down!

DECORATE WITH LIGHTS:
Not only is winter an amazing time for some serious candlelight, it also gets dark early during winter months. Make sure your dramatic lighting is in place from the moment the sun goes down.
