THE QUEEN PLEDGES TO FIGHT FOR LGBT RIGHTS
For the first time, Queen Elizabeth II has advocated for LGBT rights in the discussion about new policies in UK Parliament. During her annual address, she outlined the efforts to "make further progress to tackle the gender pay gap and discrimination against people on the basis of their race, faith, gender, disability, or sexual orientation."
While in the past the Queen has stated that her "deep-rooted Christian faith" has prevented her from fully supporting LGBT movements, she did endorse legislation in 2013 for same-sex marriage. It seems more pertinent now than ever to hop on the right side of history.
