Todd & Anthony: In Their Words

Todd and Anthony first met when Anthony traveled to NYC from Dallas on September 11th of 2013, the whole reason for being in New York was for several important sales calls with his new company. After an extraordinarily busy week in the city, Anthony decided to stay the weekend with his best friend who had flown to NYC from Dallas as well. The two friends went to a popular gay bar in Hell’s Kitchen called Industry Bar. The bar was absolutely dead, so the evening ended quite early. On Saturday night, Anthony and his friend reluctantly decided to give the outing a second try, and that’s when Anthony met Todd.

“Anthony had decided last minute to go out with some NYC friends and it was fate that we both met at a bar we both were not planning on being at. Drinks and dancing turned into a 6 month long distance courtship where we saw each other every couple of weeks, alternating between Dallas and NYC.” FaceTiming for up to 5 hours every night helped them stay very connected.

After several years together, the conversation of marriage naturally came up. “There were two engagements, one from each of us.” The first of which, Anthony proposed to Todd. “I had been in Houston taking care of a best girlfriend of mine who was going through a major surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Hospital.” Arriving back home to Anthony late in the evening on July 15th, 2017, Anthony popped the question outside by their pool. Being away from each other, and seeing how Todd had cared for his friend, Anthony wanted to solidify their commitment and loving relationship.

“But, you also have to propose to me” Anthony specified. After one lame try that didn’t go according to plan, Todd re-proposed in NYC where the two first met. “I organized a group of 7 of our best friends and family in the city and popped the question with Cartier rings when dessert was served to us at a nice dinner.”

Todd and Anthony planned their wedding for September 14th, 2018. Their wedding day happened to coincide with just over five years since they first met. They selected The Joule Hotel in Dallas, Texas to be their dream venue, holding the celebration of their lives. “Having our wedding on a Friday made the remainder of the weekend with our friends and family so much more fun. The Joule Hotel had given us the penthouse suite which was enormous, and had multiple patios for entertaining. We had a lot of fun at the hotel pool all day on Saturday.”
