Notwithstanding the Covid vaccine being a reality for most of us in the not-too-distant-future, travel as we knew it is a thing of the past. Travel is presently very much a day-to-day experience as we navigate the changing landscape of Covid regulations. Valerie Wilson Travel recently shared their perspective on what we can expect from travel in the next few months and underlined why it is imperative to plan travel with the support of a travel advisor.

What travel trends?
We know ours is a community that thrives on having the inside track on everything, but especially travel. However, in these pandemic times we need to give up the ghost for things to be the first, the hottest, the never-before-experienced because regulations, conditions, statistics still change on a dime. It has always been a challenge to pick the next hot spot, but it is a fool's errand to do so until we can confidently predict an itinerary will go off without a Covid-hitch.

Travel Shame is Real
It is almost impossible to pick our “favorite” travel shaming post. There are far too many instances of people bending the rules because our passports are screaming for a new stamp. But, one cannot underestimate the impact travel shaming can and does have on one’s back-at-home reputation.

Revenge Bucket List
Notwithstanding the prior two points, people are going for broke when it comes to bucket list destinations. Those with travel monies burning a hole in their suitcases are taking “dream trips” now.

Keeping it Local
And, many of those “dream trips” are staying closer to home! McKinsey & Co. recently reported a 90% increase in people’s desire to travel locally.
