Max & Beppe: Rustic Italian Wedding in Milan

In September of 2013, late at night at a club in Milan, Max and Beppe were introduced by a mutual friend. Immediately upon seeing each other, they decided that they needed to plan a time to go on a date.

They settled on getting dinner at a sushi joint downtown and took a walk afterward to get to know each other. “We liked each other immediately. Basically, it was love at first sight.” Just a few months later, Max and Beppe were exploring the possibility of getting engaged.

On Max’s birthday in February of 2014, Giuseppe got down on one knee to ask him to be his husband. “It was a surprise party, and he invited a hundred people. He gave me a diamond ring! After the party, there were fireworks.” They soon moved in together and began the process of planning their wedding.

Not everything was smooth while figuring out the details of the wedding. “Giuseppe is a bit of a dreamer when it comes to these things, so I had to spend my time containing him!” After a few years of living and loving as an engaged couple, the two settled on the date of September 15th, 2019. They found Mulino dell’Olio to be the perfect venue for their wedding ceremony and reception. “We wanted something that linked in some way with our origins. Our parents are from Southern Italy and own many olive plantations. The old still mill seemed perfect to us. Rustic and at the same time a very traditional location, as we liked it.”

A dear friend of Max and Beppe’s officiated over their ceremony. The vows that they made to one another seemed to sum up everything, “Who we were, who we are now, and who we will be together!” Though their friends and family were there to witness the event, the two grooms noted that they felt like it was just the two of them as they exchanged rings.

“The guests were at ease throughout the day, they described our wedding as something magical, a movie wedding, a bomb of emotions…” and certainly, the photos from the wedding day reflect that! "We are perfectionists... We wanted everything to go according to a set schedule, and we made sure it was like this, from start to finish!”

The entire day was filled with emotion. “Seeing that every single guest let himself be carried away by emotions and celebrations—that made me so happy. For me, we wanted to convey the message of love, and we saw that this was understood by everyone.

The reception was a great big party. And though there may have been much emotion surrounding the ceremony, the reception had just as much joy and frivolity. Max and Giuseppe focused on taking in and enjoying every moment. “The time flies away!”

Reflecting back on the wedding day, they are extremely happy that they got themselves a wedding planner and photographer. “Without a doubt, my immense thanks goes to the Wedding planner because she fulfilled our every wish and, in doing so, created exactly the wedding we wanted. And let's not forget the photographer! I love photographic art and this service should not be underestimated: in the future the best way to relive this moment is the photographs.”

Due to the pandemic, the newlyweds have not been able to enjoy a honeymoon. However, they noted that as soon as the world comes back to life… “Bora Bora awaits us!”
